Apps like Paprika: 6 Paprika alternatives for 2026
Six apps like Paprika for 2026, including the free Tapas recipe app, compared on price, platforms and whether they take your Paprika export.
If you're thinking of leaving Paprika, there are six apps like it worth a look in 2026: Tapas, ReciMe, Mela, Samsung Food, Recipe Keeper and AnyList. Which one fits depends on what you want to keep from Paprika and what made you start looking.
Tapas is our app, a free recipe app for iPhone and the web that you'll find as Tapas Cooking on the App Store, so we're not neutral about it. What we say about the other five comes from each company's own site, help pages and App Store listings. We checked them on 5 November 2026, and the links are under the table. All prices are in US dollars.
What Paprika does well, and what might send you looking
Paprika has native apps for iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac and Windows. It works offline, the pantry tracks when things expire, and your recipes, plans and lists stay the same on every device you've bought it for. It also switches a recipe between metric and US measures. If Paprika already does what you need, there's no reason to move.
Each version of Paprika is sold separately, though, so a phone and a laptop means two purchases. That's $4.99 on iPhone and $29.99 on Mac or Windows during its November sale, and the App Store also lists a Paprika 4 Premium in-app purchase. If you've started saving recipes from TikTok or Instagram, Paprika's help pages describe saving from websites and don't mention either. Paprika shares a collection through one account, so everyone who uses it signs in with the same login. We've gone through each of these, with sources, in Paprika vs Tapas.

Each Paprika alternative, and who it suits
Tapas
We built Tapas for recipes that come from social video, and it's free. Send it a TikTok or a reel and it writes the recipe out with amounts and steps, even if the creator only said them out loud. Everyone in your household gets their own account, and you all share one cookbook, plan and grocery list. Your Paprika collection comes across from a Paprika export, and the steps are in our Paprika comparison. To see what an import looks like before you move anything, paste in a link to one of our own recipes.
There's no Mac or Windows app, just the web app in a browser, and you'll need an iPhone to set up your account. The pantry doesn't track expiration dates either, so if you rely on that in Paprika, you'll miss it.
ReciMe
ReciMe makes the most sense if you're leaving Paprika on an Android phone and your recipes come from social media. It saves from five social apps, TikTok and Instagram among them, and you can use it on iPhone, Android, the web or through a Chrome extension. Five imports a week are free, and a ReciMe Plus subscription removes that cap. We didn't find a way to bring in a Paprika export on its site, so you may be starting your collection fresh.
Mela
Of everything here, Mela is closest to Paprika in how it works. You buy it once ($6.99 on iPhone and iPad, $14.99 on Mac, each separately) and it keeps your recipes in iCloud, where you can share the whole library with another person's account. Its help page says it can import .paprikarecipes files, so your Paprika collection can come with you. Groceries go into Apple's Reminders and the meal plan into Calendar, so your list is there even on a device without Mela. Its site doesn't say anything about TikTok or Instagram.
Samsung Food
Samsung Food is free on iPhone, iPad, Android and the web, and it suits you if you'd like help finding new things to cook, with a big public recipe library and nutrition information. Samsung Food+ costs $6.99 a month or $59.99 a year and adds personalized meal plans and pantry features. We couldn't find anything in its listing or help center about importing from Paprika, or about saving from TikTok and Instagram.
Recipe Keeper
If you liked having Paprika on a Windows PC, Recipe Keeper is the closest match. It runs on iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac and Windows, and its App Store listing names Paprika among the apps it can bring recipes in from. Its website says it saves from Instagram and TikTok too, and it scans recipes from cookbooks and PDFs. As with Paprika, the Pro Upgrade is bought separately for each platform, and it's $19.99 on iPhone and iPad.
AnyList
If the grocery list was the part of Paprika you used most, look at AnyList. Its help pages explain how to bring a Paprika export in through its website, and sharing a list with your household costs nothing. You'll need AnyList Complete for more than 5 recipe imports from websites, and for its Mac app, web app and Apple Watch app. That's $9.99 a year for one person or $14.99 for a household.
FAQ
Which Paprika alternatives are free?
Samsung Food's core app is free, and so is all of Tapas. ReciMe and AnyList have free versions with limits, Recipe Keeper is free to try, and Mela is free to download but needs a one-time purchase for the full app.
What's the best Paprika alternative for Android?
ReciMe and Recipe Keeper both have Android apps, and if it's only the price of the desktop versions that bothers you, Paprika's own Android app is still there. Tapas works in an Android phone's browser once you have an account, but the account has to be made on an iPhone.
Which apps can import my Paprika recipes?
Tapas, Mela, Recipe Keeper and AnyList all describe a way to bring recipes across from Paprika. In Tapas, Mela and AnyList you start from Paprika's own export, which puts every recipe in one file.
Is Mela better than Paprika?
They're close. Mela is newer, Apple-only and keeps everything in iCloud, while Paprika also runs on Android and Windows and has a pantry with dates. Both are sold separately for each platform.
Should I keep Paprika?
If you cook from recipe websites, use a Mac or a Windows PC, and already own Paprika, it still does the job well. If more of your recipes now come from TikTok and Instagram, you'll want an app that saves from them, and we've compared those in the best apps to save recipes from TikTok and Instagram.
