Tapas is a small, quiet place for people to keep recipes and show friends what they cooked. Nearly everything is private by default. These rules cover the part that is not: posts, profiles and recipes other people can see.

What we want

Photos of food you actually cooked, however it turned out.
Honest ratings and notes.
Credit to the source when you import someone's recipe, Tapas does this for you.

What is not allowed

Nudity or sexual content.
Gore or violence unrelated to cooking, harm to a person, or animal cruelty. Raw meat, whole fish, bones and knives are ordinary cooking and are fine.
Hate speech or attacks on people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, age or sexual orientation.
Harassment of a specific person, including in captions.
Self-harm content, or promotion of disordered eating.
Illegal goods or services, including drug and weapon sales.
Spam: advertising, affiliate-link farming, or repeated unrelated promotion.
Other people's private information: addresses, phone numbers, ID documents.
Content you do not have the right to post, including copied photos.
Impersonating another person or business.

Tapas is not for children under 13.

How this is enforced

Three layers, in this order:

Before it posts. Photos and captions shared to friends' feeds are screened automatically. Content that fails is not published, and you are told why so you can change it.
Reporting. Anyone can report a post, account or recipe from the ⋯ menu. A reported post disappears from the reporter's feed immediately. Two independent reports hide it from everyone pending review. Every report is reviewed within 24 hours.
Blocking. Blocking someone hides you from each other everywhere in Tapas and removes any follow between you. They are not told.

What happens when a rule is broken

Depending on what it is, we remove the content, restrict the account's ability to post, or terminate the account. Anything illegal is reported to the relevant authorities. Repeated or severe violations end the account without warning.
