These terms are the agreement between you and Tapas ("we", "us"). By creating an account you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use Tapas.
The part that matters most. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Post it and your account is terminated. See the Community Guidelines, which are part of these terms.
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. One account per person. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
Your recipes, photos, notes and captions remain yours. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce and display that content for the sole purpose of operating Tapas, showing it to you, to your household, and to the people you have chosen to share it with. That licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies already made by people you shared it with and for backups that expire on their normal cycle.
You promise you have the right to post what you post. Do not upload photos or text that belong to someone else.
You agree not to post or send content that is objectionable, and not to behave abusively toward other users. Objectionable content includes anything listed in the Community Guidelines: sexual content, gore or violence, hate speech, harassment, self-harm promotion, illegal goods, spam, other people's private information, impersonation, and content you do not have the rights to.
We enforce this in three ways, all built into the app:
We may remove content, restrict posting, or terminate an account at any time for a breach of these terms, without notice where the breach is severe. Illegal content is referred to the authorities.
Premium is $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Prices may change; we will tell you before a change affects you.
Free months earned through referrals or bonuses are credits applied to your Premium period. They have no cash value, are capped at 12 months of referral credit, and are void if the referral turns out to be fraudulent.
AI features carry fair-use rate limits, on both free and Premium accounts.
Tapas uses AI to import recipes, answer questions, tag, and screen posts. It gets things wrong. Check quantities, cooking times and food-safety temperatures yourself.
Tapas is not a nutritionist, dietitian, doctor or medical service, and nothing in it is medical or dietary advice. Saved preferences, including allergies, are used to tailor suggestions, they are not a safety mechanism and must not be relied on as one. If you have a food allergy or a medical condition, read every ingredient yourself and talk to a qualified professional.
Joining a household means sharing one cookbook, meal plan and grocery list with its members. Everyone in it can see and edit that shared content, and content you contribute stays with the household if you leave.
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of Tapas. We will give reasonable notice before ending the service entirely, and time to export your data. Tapas depends on third-party services and on the internet; we do not promise uninterrupted operation.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently deletes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these terms. Sections 2, 9, 10 and 11 survive termination.
Tapas is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to Tapas is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as the law allows. Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Tapas or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. If Tapas fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to Tapas, including product liability, legal-compliance and intellectual-property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and that you are not on any US Government restricted-parties list.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect, and the version at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use Tapas after that means you accept the new version.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts located there have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your home country gives you the right to bring proceedings there.
